Up and Down, Up and Down and Up and Down

Hi Dylan,

Today was another day downtown. You like going downtown with me. I get to do a few errands and you get to watch cars and trucks pass by. You also get to walk down the street and find all the little cubby holes to play in and ramps to walk up and down, and up and down and up and down. We would be there all day if I didn't scoop you up with a tantrum and walk us away. Neither of us like these little tantrums that you do, hopefully we will both learn to deal with them. With the little cubby holes, you like to "beep beep" your way into them and have a little seat on the steps. What I mean by "beep beep" is like the sound that we make when we mimic a dump truck or a truck backing up "beep beep". You like to walk backwards. You used to crawl backwards also. So very cute. Maybe your going to start to run backwards??? I attached a few photos of you running up and down the ramps by a bank downtown. We seem to be regulars to this location.

This is the ramp outside a bank downtown. The ramp goes up to the bank entrance doors, but goes back down again on the other side. At the top of the ramp is a few large shrubs. I like to get you to stop and "smell the roses", listen to the birds. They are swallows, sometimes a few and sometimes a bunch. Over Christmas, I put up a bunch of window decals on the windows at home. A couple of them had chick-a-dee's sitting on trees or flying by. And when we were visiting Grams and Grandpas, we watched the birds at the bird feeder outside their kitchen window. You grasped onto the idea that they were birds when I would say "chick-a-dee, dee, dee whether they were chick-a-dee's or not. This helped you understand birds. You can spot Ravens and know that they are birds and that they fly in the sky (like airplanes).

I am trying to give you a snack in between all your up's and down's on the ramp.

Up the ramp

And down the ramp

Here we are on a side alley watching baby bunnies. They were very shy and skitterish so we did not get to spend much time with them. You have only sen a few bunnies so far, but just wait because Canmore will be swarming with them soon. If the weather ever warms up.

Oh look, another ramp. This one is brand new to us, and probably won't be visited too much but worth a little bit of play today.

Check out your face. You were loving it and the sun was nice and warm.
