Hi there my scrumptious little lime,
What a day! Today was a special treat for you but, unfortunately the weather is still not in our favour. We will keep our fingers crossed though. So today we went to Butterfield Acres Farm to do an Easter Egg Hunt. I was hoping for a nice day where we could spend time looking at all the new baby farm animals just born, but it snowed AGAIN. So it was a white, cold Easter hunt where your daddy carried you most of the time (which actually was for the better because if it were nice, it would have been BUSY). So, we were surrounded by farm animals. It was a fun day and most likely I will take you back when it warms up. You are reading alot about farm animals and tractors, so I don't think another visit will hurt. Also the Zoo will be a repeat visit. YEAHHH!!! mom is excited. So, there are many pictures attached to this entry. Just follow along reading the captions under the picture and you will get the idea of the day. FYI- just because Daddy is in all the pictures with you does not mean I was not there. I was, I was holding the camera taking all the pictures. I think there is one picture of me for you to see. I LOVE YOU!
The baby goats came out for a short visit. I think they were cold all huddled in the corner.
Your introduction to the Donkey. He had a very small pen. He did not move about at all, no noises, no sounds, no Eeyore, just Donkey.
A few miniature horses. They were nice.
A whole lot of lambs out for a visit. These guys were fun and you did not seem to mind them sniffing at you. In the picture below, the little boy in red was giving a lamb (and trying on another) a big wet open mouth kiss until (I think) big mama came over. Maybe she wanted a kiss also or maybe she was protective of the youngers. ha ha. All the parents in the pen were either laughing or making the gross face (and noises followed gross), but the kid kept the wet one's coming. eeeewwwee!
Yes Dylan, these goats do have heads.
Peek-a-who? A new favorite book from the library. I think they were playing with you.
Well Dylan, we seem to go to the park either every day or so. I think you missed climbing the park ramp as you were quite persistent on climbing up the goats playground. Luckily no goats booted you off. On the way down, you thought the slide was broken, but ha ha, there was no slide Dylan, just another ramp on the either side. At least you could go up and down and up and down.
Inside the pen were the small baby goats. I went in to see them, but I am not sure you came in with daddy. So here is a picture for later. Little baby goats.
This is a very nice horse that stayed close by us. Maybe he was looking for warmth also?? Neigh!
More ramps for Dylan. Daddy had to go fetch you out of the ladies washroom.
We did not think you were ready for a pony ride, so we tried you out on the tire pony first. You didn't last there either.
Oh look, it's me and you. I was taking you for a ride on a tractor steering wheel sort of thing? Was I glad I wore my snow pants, it was cold.
Now here is the slide Dylan. Up and down and up and down and............ you get the idea.
I am sorry, I am not too sure what this is except to say that it is a swing. A square wooded swing? You sat ok and stayed. I know you were hungry and tired and hey, lets just get outta here, but the Easter Egg hunt is still to come.
And it begins. Got your basket?
Ummmmm, come on boys. Quit lagging behind. The hunt has begun. Ahhh, but there was a tractor and a dump truck to look at!!
We were allowed to collect four eggs. One for mommy and daddy and two for you being 1 1/2 years old. The coloured objects are actually coloured rocks to collect. You then have to hand them over for the Easter Bunny to finish his work on them.
This is where you had to hunt for the eggs, under hay bales and on pathways.
Look mom, another tractor. This farm has a lot of blue tractors.
Dylan, you shyed away from this part because there was a tractor to look at, so I handed over your coloured rocks to the Easter Bunny for you.
Next we went into the Princess Palace to get warmed up and plant our Easter Seeds. Daddy helped you along here.
After a quick bite to eat, a toasty fire we ventured back out to visit the last of the farm animals, "the little piggies". (make sure you say "the little piggies" in a high pitched soft tiny voice).
You did not seem to mind "the little piggies". There were quite cute.
But then there was big mama. If you can't read the yellow sign in the picture, her name is Ruby and she weighs 350-400 lbs. She is a monster pig. OMG. I walked by the empty pen, turned around and there she was - HUGE!!! We have a great big jacked up pick up truck outside our house belonging to a neighbour. We call it the MONSTER Truck. Well Ruby is a MONSTER Pig.
She's bigger then your daddy!
We even found you your very own tractor to ride. Orange, your daddy's favourite colour.
And a John Deere Trike. Still a little big. we'll keep looking.
Here are 2 of the 3 piggies in our family.
And on the way home. Even after a cold day on the farm, you still woke on the hour and did not fall back to sleep. hmmmmm.
