Another Snowday

Hi ya Dylan, What another wake up call this morning. More and more snow again. Your dad did mention a snow fall warning but I never expected this much. I keep hoping that it will miss us. What a year not to ski. It snowed a couple of days again, but it melted fast. This is a winter wonderland snowfall. OMG!!! I really want to get my bike out and take you riding. I have hopes of biking to Banff and back over the summer and maybe do Goat Creek if it not too bumpy for you. You sure are growing fast. Your snow suit and boots still fit but your are stretching out of them. Hopefully, we won't need them again.

Picture taken from the front deck looking across our street.

We put the sand/water table together in the sun, and now we have had 2 days of snow since Easter Saturday. This snow is one days worth of snow fall. When i s it going to end?

Thanks honey for helping mommy shovel. I thought our snow was suppose to be light and dry, not heavy and wet. You know, I have put your snow suit and boots away twice and keep having to get them back out.

Dylan's shovel and mommy's shovel!

Big shoveling Dylan.

Looking out the back deck. Look at how much snow has fallen. Your Aunt Melanie told me I was going to be the cause of the snow as I have just taken my snow tires off. Ahhhhh, I think she jinxed it. ha ha.

Wiggletime #3. Same lady as last reading and leading, but different from the 1st. We did bubble time, some ball time, one book read to us, and we read one to ourselves. We sang a few songs and said hello to a brand new baby. You are still acting shy and pounding on my chest (your sign language for milk), but you were not as clingy as this past couple of weeks. We left the house with all the snow in the above pictures. I got to feel winter driving on summer tires again. A wee bit slippery going in to town. I love my winter tires!!!!!

Did a little bit of walking downtown after Wiggle time. We hit the ramp again, stomped through all the snow puddles, and water puddles and got wet. You fell asleep on the way home, 1 - 1.5 hrs earlier than normal. hmmmmm. Lets see how long you stay down for. This will be nice so we can get up and play in the sun after snack.

Making Friends

Hi ya Dylan,

We had a big day today. A little bit of playtime with Gram and Grandpa in the morning. But then we were off .to have some fun with some kids. We ventured off to the playcentre again. All boys when we arrived. No dolls were being tossed around, or house being played. It was all trains, cars, garages and hmmmmm what else. We only stay for 1.5 hrs right now as we have to move on to gymnastics for another 1 hr of fun. We will spend more time at the playcentre once your swimming lessons are completed. You had a fun time playing with some boys. These boys came to you and you went to them also.

We have been playing at the sand table a bit lately. Scoop a little bit up with a shovel and pour it down the tower.

Two different garages side by side, which to play, or both. There pretty tall Dylan.

Joining in with the boys playing trains. You have played with these boys before. The brown shirt usually comes with a caregiver, and the boy in the blue shirt (Thomas shirt), we met his mom at Swimming lesson #2 our new instructor. It was nice to chat with her for a little bit today.

A bigger boy just plowed right through the garages to get to the hoop. We played hoop last week, so you two played nicely for a bit. Then you moved back to the garages.

After snacktime, we zoomed on over to the rec. centre for gym time. Weeeeee!. A really neat set up this time. But you bumped your head twice on a short ladder holding up the big and colourful parachute.

You were trying to get this little girl to go under the bridge. You just ga ga goo gooed at her and pointed, but she was younger and did not do anything. ha ha.

Nah, you have this tunnel at home, why would you go through??

Up the ramp.

Down the ramp.

Visiting Calgary

Dylan, today we took a trip into Calgary. You traveled in to the city with your Grandparents (not buckled up, ahhhh) and we visited Cheryl's house and all Stephanie's kids. Fun fun fun. It was a short visit, but you got to run around with Korbin and Amaya, play in the kitchen with Amaya and Kherrington, and get your first taste of lasagna. That reminds me, I have to make some lasagna for you. Here are some pictures of our visit.

Here you are playing very nicely with Amaya. She is 1 yr older than you but you two get along very well.

Kherrington sneaking in for play.

Weeeeeee, you go girl

Korbin was giving out free horsey rides to Amaya.

Pretty girl Amaya

Amaya and you are getting close. This is really nice to see. You two also kissed a couple of times. tee hee.

Amaya and you playing footsies.

Dylan, you are just play gorgeous!!!

Cheers!

After returning home from our Calgary trip, it started to snow AGAIN! UGH!

Hoppy Easter Sunday

More and more Easter Dylan,

Gram brought you another gift. A book of opposites. This is a picture of you and Gram reading the book together. She quite enjoyed your interest in this book. Easter Sunday started at home with Gram and Grandpa, then it moved to the Train Park where a neighbourhood mom hid eggs the park and in the Frisbee golf course (for the older kids). The hunt was a big hit for a number of kids. Unfortunately, the older kids seemed to have raided the train park before the younger had a chance so some little ones were eggless or there were fewer eggs. That's OK, you don't eat chocolate yet anyways. ha ha, just mom and dad, or just mom. tee hee. After your fourth Easter Egg hunt, we all moved our celebrating to Field to have dinner with your Great Aunt Helen. Wow, another Easter Hunt in Field. The Easter bunny was nice to you this year. Next year, maybe you'll get chocolate - yummy!!!! It was a good day, and it was nice to get away and see you play with your family.

A book of opposites from Gram and Grandpa.

Walking to the Easter Egg hunt at the Train Park. You now pull the wagon on your own. For awhile you liked to push it, but now you pull it all over the place. BUT, it takes a very long time because we still stop after you've taken maybe 3 steps or so. Step, step, step - STOP, step, step, step - STOP. ahhhhh. That's OK mommy, I am exploring and absorbing.

First egg found. It seems that you needed to remove the egg out of the make believe sink in the playground house in order for you to play with the gravel in the sink. So, you found your first egg at this hunt. Yeah, all by yourself.

2 eggs, yippeee!

A Lamarche / Barry family photo.

Daddy gives you a close up look at the train tracks in Field.

"Look, a Semi truck". You could see the highway over the tracks and across the river. Truck, truck, truck.

Ahhhh, this was cute. You laid down to get close to Max. Your daddy and I have taught you to be gentle from very early on. You were very gentle with Max. Max is getting old, but he is a jewel. You both are.

Oh, forget about Max, look there is a train. ha ha.

Hoppy Easter - Saturday

Hoppy Easter Saturday Dylan.

Today was a day of gifts for you. Your Gram and Grandpa are visiting for the week and brought toys, clothes and treats for both mommy and daddy. Yummmmm, chocolate.

More trains!!!! Hoppy Easter present from Fitz and Austin. Another love for another engine. Dylan, you only have two hands, which two engines will you be carrying around now. What a great set, a tunnel that makes noises (owl, rock fall, train whistle), and a big hill. Also, a spaceship, and a Semi-truck and trailer. Woweee!!!!

Hoppy Easter from Gram and Grandpa. A small dump truck, a postal vehicle and clothes.

A tiny little baby dump truck from Gram and Grandpa.

Dylan, this is your third Easter egg hunt. I randomly placed plastic eggs filled with crackers or cereal around the LR and DR for your hunting pleasure. It was fun watching you find them. You got more and more excited with each one, and you started giving them back to Grandpa to crack open.

Hoppy Easter from mommy and daddy. A sand and water table for the deck. But first, installation in necessary. Dylan, you got the screwdriver, get driving please.

Actually, you have daddy's screwdriver, what happened to yours? Is daddy using yours?

Ta-da!!! A finished table for fun in the sun.

Reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaccccccccccch! Sometimes your mommy throws things over the banisters to land at the entrance. A quick multitasking method for me. Sometimes you are needed to help get things down that have gotten stuck. ahhhh Thanks honey!!!

Swimming and Gymnastics

Hi ya Dylan, What a lucky boy you are. I have so many activities planned for you this spring. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with you. Tuesdays we have a 1/2 hr swimming lesson, Thursdays we have a 1hr playtime at the gym club, and Fridays we do a 1/2hr of Wiggletime at the library. We did our first swimming lesson this past Tues so we only have 5 more to go. Our first lesson was pretty good. We got there early, which was lucky for us as you were not at all at ease for being there. You started with being uncomfortable with the texture of the change room floor on your feet. Next you did not like the noise of the hand dryers that were being used as hair dryers. Next you did not like the strangers, nor the shower and you were extremely insistent to leave the pool area. BUT, we took it nice and slow on getting in the pool. We have been in the pool before, but I think you were a little overwhelmed this time. Our lesson started 30 minutes after our entry into the water. I needed to pay special attention to your shivering as we would be in the pool longer. We started the lesson with mimicking the washing machine, and then a sewing machine. I tried to lie you comfortable on your back resting on my shoulder but you liked keeping your eyes on me. We practiced "Humpty Dumpty" by falling off the pool wall. We did a couple of slide bumps into the water. I tried to get you to blow bubbles, but you kept pulling my face out of the water. ha ha. We got out of the pool and into the hot tub 20 min into the lesson (shivering). A nice little warm up and while sitting in the hot tub, I found out that there is going to be another multiplex building with aquatics, fitness, climbing and library ..... being built down by the courthouse. I am excited about our next lesson.

Today we went to the playcentre before we hit the gymnastics club. I wanted to rent out some toys from the playcentre. So you played there for about 1 hr. One little boy seemed like he was trying to chase you down with a dump truck. ha ha, that's what it looked like. So we went and played with a tall garage and the little boy followed. He was a nice boy with a few words. Next we moved onto the next toy and he wanted you to slide with him. But we needed to move onto gymnastics. We brought home some wooden blocks, shopping cart with groceries and some magnetic fishing wands with fish (hopefully then will be a success in the bath). EXCITING.

After the playcentre, we rushed over to the gym (carefully not to speed at there is photo radar set up in Canmore and they have caught me twice, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh). Gymnastics was day 1 of seesion 2, and we have 9 more visits. You had so much fun today running around. You footing is much more secure and you were stronger and steadier as you climbed, but still not jumping. W tried out the climbing rope. Yu had been on a climbing rope swing before in Southern Ontario (picture) but I could not get any pictures of you today on it with my hands full of you. But as you can see, I got a bunch of gym photos. I was not able to get many first session because you were less steady. So, have a look at the pictures attached.

What else I should tell you is this week you are started to say new sounds. "Gagoo" I think is what you are saying. It is cute sounding, but not sure what it means. You also liked to do part of our walk the other day walking backwards. We stop and spot birds, listen to squirrels and splash in puddles. You love to go up and down the hills and ramps making me run up and down them again and again pulling you in the wagon. hee hee. You don't like having your hands dirty at all, so feeding yourself is an issue. If you have the smallest crumb on your hand, you walk over to the garbage can under the kitchen sink and put it in the garbage. ha ha.

Ok, enough of the chit chat and here are some pictures.

"Under the bridge"

"Through the tunnel". Actually, you balanced very well on this. You were not sure of it last session.

Sorry, a little blurry. Some parents just stand still and not interact with there kids. Ugh! Hopefully I won't get that old and boring.

Back to the bridge.

Trying out the hoola hoop. I am not sure if I mentioned this before, you held onto the hoola hoop while you lied on your belly on a (?) square board with wheels. So I was able to pull you around on wheels through the gym. Does that make sense?? You only started it on the last day of gym, so we will try it again.

"Through the tunnel".

A view of the busy gym. We will eventually graduate to the large trampoline at the back of the gym, but right now we will only try the little ones.
