Today was a fabulous day. So fabulous Dylan slept for 2 hrs without waking and then slept 1 hr longer during his nap. OMG - 3 hrs. We are soo loving this warmer weather. Long naps and fun times outside. Today we went downtown for our routine trip to the library, tried to get a hair cut, watched cars, trucks and walked over and under a bridge. He loved it. So we will be back tomorrow and so on and so on. I really like this one nap a day. Now we both (Dylan and I have some freedom).
Here Dylan is getting acquainted with rocks and boulders. We are downtown along the Bow Rivers edge with the river bridge crossing in the background, our main focus of the day. Dylan was getting used to seeing water in the form of a creek or river yesterday when we went snow shoeing for my birthday. We went up the Three Sisters creek and Dylan fell asleep in the backpack and woke at a open section of the creek that was babbling away. So on the way back down the trail he was pointing to all open water sources. And today he was excited to see the river open and flowing, knowing and understanding.
Walking the Bow River trail happily. He is definitely maturing and wanting to go further, but he still LOVES to be in our arms.

Here we are walking under the pedestrian bridge looking up at the vehicle bridge. Dylan loves bridges. He learnt about bridges from his train set in his bedroom. We have to say "over the bridge" or "under the bridge" when we play with the trains. OR read "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" over and over and over again (Thanks Aunt Heidi) where we read about mountains and bridges going over rivers and through the countryside.

Now as I have 40-50 books out from the library at a time, I have more train books to read instead of the same one. ahhhhhh.
Dylan lies on his belly and watches the wheels on the trains go by him, back and forth and back and forth and he does this with his cars and buses also.
Weeeeeeee, bridge, water, river, rocks, cars. ahhhhhhhh.
Peeking through the cracks in the bridge to see the river (water) below.
Look, water, were on a bridge. ahhhhhh
So cute, he just took off. Exploring his independence along the bridge.
My little man.
And back we go again and again.
Looks whats down there, any fish?? I hope to get a fish tank this week for him (I mean me). hee hee.
Watching cars drive over the bridge adjacent to the foot bridge that he is on. VERY EXCITING!
Walking back towards the car but stopping at benches and picnic tables enroute.
Soaking up the sun and looking back at the bridge.
hmmmmm, I placed him on the snow (which actually was a slab of snow covered ice that had broken away from the main section, but was still safe as it had beach underneath) at the rivers edge, but he was not sure about sitting??? He either was tired and ready for nap or wanted to get in the frigid water. Probably not the latter.
Walking down the Bow River Trail.
Walking backwards down the Bow River Trail.
Acknowledging the garbage cans. Letting mommy know that he knows what they are.
Playing on the porch of Settlers Cabin, a store downtown. He likes to go up and down and up and down ramps but there was no ramp here. The porch was like the bridge so he was attracted to walk on the boards and go up and down the step.
Looks like a push up, but he is just getting ready to go down the step.
great photos, great day, and loved the description of Dylan learning about creeks and rivers, and bridges.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the haircut!
Your photography and descriptions paint a great picture of joys, marvels and frustrations of parenting. Keep it up.
