Christmas Tree hunt

Last year we missed this deal and bought our Christmas tree from Ikea, which was BEAUTIFUL (Ikea recycles theior trees and we got a $20 gift card also). But this year we drove into Kaninaskis Country (HWY 40 and HWY 68 Sibbald Creek Trail) and found the Junior Forest Rangers site and cut down our own tree for $5.00. That's right, only $5.00. You can not go wrong with that. What a beautiful day. We were all tired, but nothing was going to stop us that day. The JFR have rotating plots where you cut your own "Lodgepole Pine" and they return and plant a tree for everyone cut. What a great deal. (There always seems to be a but, and this but is not that bad). BUT, Lodgepole Pine trees are pretty pathetic. The trees were all fairly sparse. Some people lopped off the tops of taller fuller trees (not allowed) leaving tall stumps behind. We found a nice little tree (sparse) but nice. Below are the pics for the day.

Enroute to get our Christmas tree. I see a little Chelsea in this picture! And this is my first time riding in Gabe's new truck. Pretty nice.

We have found a winner!!!

Dylan has started to get fussy with mom and only wants to be in daddy's arms. Whew, a little break for me and a lot more work for dad. It is great that Gabe is working in the city, but he still gets home too late for play or sleep with Dylan. So time with daddy is precious.
