Back to Ontario

Our first stop was the Antonucci house. Kerry is my middle sister and she has two kids (Chelsea and Kyle), a dog (Willow) and a husband (Joe). Kyle did a fabulous job with Dylan getting down and playing on the floor and lending out his bedroom and toys. Dylan and I slept in Kyles single bed and we played with Kyles big fire trucks, lots of wheels. Kyle was kind enough to give Dylan a lot of toys also to take home. Some we were able to fit into my luggage when other remained in Ontario as they were too big for airplane travel. Kerry found a neighbour who lent us a highchair, stroller, play pen and potty. Thanks Kerry. Here are a few pictures.

Dylan with a gift from Kyle, BUT it was too big to bring home. boo hoo, what do we do? Anyone traveling from Ontario to Canmore??

Auntie Suzanne and Dylan

Dylan was getting a ride in the laundry basket from Auntie Kerry. She had him giggling like crazy. Kyle wanted to spin him until he vomited. Luckily, mommy was sitting close by (having a needed break - lunch) to stop Kyle from spinning Dylan into a black hole.

Cousins - Kyle, Cameron and Alex all got down to play with Dylan every chance they had.

Next stop was at Nana's. Nana's home is a sanctuary, even if it is tiny. We spent most of our time outside on her grass. It was heaven. Dylan was able to play barefoot, naked, he walked a lot with the stroller support and Nana's neighbour lent us her wagon. We had a great time getting soaked by the hose. Another neighbour down a few blocks stopped me on the street and lent me a rain cover for the borrowed stroller. What a nice neighbourhood. I hope Nana has returned the raincover??

Our final stop was at Suzanne's house. We started off by going to Chudleighs apple farm. What a great spot. Both Nana and I worked there long ago. She in the gift store and I in the bakery. I wish I could remember all the recipes because Chudleighs is very famous now. Didn't they invent the bumble berry or the crumble topping??? As you can see by the photos below, we had a great time - apple picking, tractor riding, petting zoo, straw maze and slides. Thanks Suzanne for a great day and great memories. I loved every minute of it and I am sure Dylan did also.

I wrote to the Zoo to send me a pet, and they sent me a camel. But he was too grumpy, so I sent him back.

Dropping Cameron and Alex off at the school bus pick up. Well, Dylan and I had to drop the kids off as he loves school buses. He knows what they are. I sing the school bus song to him every time a bus goes in front of our house and we visit the neighbourhood school and watch all 14 pick up the kids.

Well, that was Ontario. It was a great trip. Great weather and great family. I love you all.

Update

Here Dylan is talking with his hands. I am not sure how this started, but he firsts looks at his hands, flips them back to front and back again, talking to them as if they are his friends. And then he reaches for the sky with his gargles of language. It is so funny and cute. I mimic him in return and we have a running Dylan gargle conversation with laughs to follow.

Another thing that Dylan has started on his own is that he likes to be chased. We play peek-a-boo with him and he hides himself and pops out. Or he will call me when I am in the kitchen to play, but now his bedtime routine consists of being chased around the upstairs hallway and bedrooms until he gets tired - YEAH!! What does being chased mean, well daddy chases him around with his big feet or with the Fisher Price ball popper. It is a 2 wheeled thing that you push and ball pop up in side. I got it for $2 at the thrift store - YEAH. We also chase him around with his cars. We use to play cars, but now all he wants to do is be chased. It is funny and cute. Little bum crawling away with little screams. He also likes hide and seek. Mommy hides (trying to get dressed or do something) and Dylan has to find me - but I also sometimes jump out and scare him. I know that sounds mean, but he loves it - big laughs and then he crawls away.

Dylan is working on his 7th and 8th teeth right now. They are coming in just like all the rest with no problems at all. Not even a mouth full of drool. Mind you he likes to blow bubbles (or something) and he drools that everywhere. Little Dylan puddles around the house. The next teeth to come in are hid big molars. Wonder how he will do with them? Well, with teeth coming in, Dylan is eating better. I have stopped making his own meals now, which means I have a lot of ice cubed sized meals to eat myself - ha ha (Bison/Peas/Rice , Rice/Chicken/Carrots). He is now eating what I make for myself. He just would not take meals but now he has had chicken and sweet potato and Hamburger and soup. Yummy Dylan. He also loves his ice cream and yogurt.

Another fun thing that Dylan is doing is laughing. We had some big laughs last night. I am trying to put him to bed by being calm and quiet and he settles, but then sits up and starts to laugh. This continues and continues and I just can't hold my face straight and we both have laughing fits. He likes to initiate laughs. He will start to crack up and expect you to follow suit like a conversation. ha ha ha tee hee

Well, I think that is it for now. I have him napping in bed right now (that never happens), so I have to keep plugging along with my chores. Oh no, when was the last time the house got cleaned, ahhhh. Don't want to do it.

Pre - Halloween

So Halloween is right around the corner. I will be decking up our house for Dylan just in case he needs a pre-Halloween. He has a surgery date booked for October 27th - boo hoo, poor mom. So, if he is not up to the occassion (we won't be going door to door, but we can still have some fun), I will suit him up earlier. Is there anyone out there who has a 12 month old Halloween suit to borrow??

Surgery - Dylan has already started his treatments pre-surgery. He has had one testosterone shot and will be getting a second in over 2 weeks. What the shots do is enlarge the area getting it ready for surgery. Wish him well.

Standing and Walking

Happy 11 months to me.
Beautiful boy in a beautiful sweater on a beautiful day

Big Bull Elk on nap walk.

How cute am I, scrumptious!!!

Mom and I outside. I am practicing my walk.

Stopping and playing with gravel every two steps

Trying a little off roading

He has been doing quite well. As mentioned in an early blog, he has been walking around the house using chairs and stools and his Bumbo for support. The other day he was shopping with daddy pushing his stroller around the store. Wowwee, it won't be long. Better buy him some shoes. I am going to the city on Tues. hopefully I will find some Stride Rite for him somewhere.

This is our first time going to the Parent Link Centre. It is a place where parents can together and kids can play for free. Here are a few pictures. What is nice is to see that Dylan is doing well. He played with a larger boy in the balls and walked around the whole centre showing off. Yippee!!!

Playing like mommy did when she was a kid at IKEA. I am at the kids place.

Making new friends

Pushing a scooter around at the kids place

I am sooo proud of my new truck. Mommy found it for me at the thrift store for $8. Yeah for mom.

Cute Hair, but I need a hair cut. It tickles my ears.
