Tonight is a new night.

Well, as some of you know, sleeping has been a challenge for Dylan and I. Dylan has gone from a fabulous easy going long time sleeper, to a very difficult short napper. Well, things are brightening up for the both of us. I just could not take the every 2 hours wake up call anymore as it was no longer every 2 hours. It became every 1 1/2 hrs or 1 hr or even every 1/2 through the night. Then we were able to pull out a few 4, or 5, even 6 hrs of sleep and maybe 1 or 2 7 hrs of sleep over 6 months or more. Now Dylan is sleeping with me and things are going much better. He is at the stage where he is rolling over and over and over and over so Dylan was not "Down with the crib". He still wakes up every 2 hrs for a boob, but he is only up for a few minutes compared to 1 or 2 hrs at a time. When he started to roll over in the crib, that was the start to him sleeping on his belly. He does not do it much at all, but tonight he is flat on his belly, and presently whistling away (just like his dad) I tried to take a picture, but ..... I did not want to wake him.

Naps....are a whole other story. Dylan is a great napper, that is if I am walking him in the chariot, or driving him in the car, or if he is nursed and stays on my lap. As soon as I move or if he leaves my arms he is instantly awake. So, Dylan get a 2 - 4 hour walk each day. BUT - I am trying to at least do his morning nap in house. Keeping my fingers crossed, 2 mornings with success.

  1. Cute blog!

Samson has similar sleep issues. He's been in our bed since he was born, which worked really well for us and he has always slept well at night. But now it's getting a bit crowded so we're trying to transfer him to his crib. Right now we have one rail off it and it's flush against the side of our bed, which is tucked into the corner
-- so he's still beside me, but in the crib. He has only spent a few hours each night in there since we set it up on Friday, but it's a start! Also, he only ever naps for about 30 minutes at a time, and averages 3 or 4 naps a day...used to be he would only nap in our laps/arms and would wake up when I tried to put him down. Now I nurse him to sleep in the bed and he'll usually stay there if I wait til he's really asleep before I sneak away!
